The Revolution Theory began playing basement gigs and house parties during the summer of 1998, honing their skills and tightening their sound. In the Fall of 1998, they began playing local clubs and festivals, quickly earning themselves a name within the Central Iowa music scene. They have been honored with gigs at Budhafests 98 and 99 (local music festivals), a spot on the second stage of KKDM 107.5FM's "Dot Fest 3" (featuring Run DMC, Citizen King, Smash Mouth, 2 Skinnee J's, Shootyz Groove and more) in June of 1999, and played benefit shows in Des Moines and Kansas City. They have also opened for a variety of acts, including Sister Machine Gun, Bolt Upright, Spite, and the Step Kings.
The Revolution Theory has recently completed work on their first release, entitled "Meet the Guy." They are aiming to play outside of the state of Iowa more often, and have already played multiple times in St. Louis, Minneapolis, and Omaha. As they continue to grow and become musically tighter, one can only wonder where the future will lead them one thing is for sure though there will definitely be a "Revolution."
